7 Great Tips to save money on your next holiday.
...................................................................................................................................

1)        Plan and Budget

Get the right price and pay for what you really want.
Make a list of what you want on this holiday and how much you can afford to pay, don't forget to include, spending money. Research, with your local travel agents, magazines, books and the Internet, compare prices, but check what's included in the price. Pay for what you want and not what's in a package as you'll often end up paying for facilities

2)        Stick to your plan!!

Select the luxuries and pay for what you intend to use. There's no point in paying for a 5* luxury hotel if you intend to only be there for a few hours each day. If your a party  animal and only need to a room to sleep in, then go for a cheaper hotel and use the money you save on something you want.

3)        Check for holiday providers accreditations.

Always book your holidays through an ATOL or ABTA bonded travel agent as this will give you protection in the event that something does go wrong. Booking your holiday with your credit card, also offer additional protection.

4)        Last minute bargain or red herring?

If your flexible with your dates, look for last minute bargains on the internet, these can save you £100's. Do your research and check, is it a real bargain? What's included and more importantly NOT included in the price?

5)        Plan and sacrifice!

Plan what you are going to do and what you want to buy. If you want to nice meals, luxury gifts, plan and budget for these. Sacrifice, decide what you don't want to do, like excursions or eating out, perhaps use the money you save to pay for what you do want.

6)        Foreign Exchange.

Always check and shop around for the best exchange rate available. Try to avoid the hotel foreign exchange counter as these are often very expensive. Its cheaper to use your debit card and take money via the bank or an ATM. But check fee's with your bank.

7)        Credit cards.

Using your credit card on holiday can be very expensive, most cards companies charge between 2-5% for foreign exchange transaction, this will be on top of your normal credit card interest charges. If you intend to use your credit card on holiday, check what the fees are, some credit cards do not charge for using your card abroad.
